Hot Rod Power Tour 2012 – Day 3: Champaign, IL

Day 3 of the Hot Rod Power Tour kicked of with a blast … of rain.  But a little water couldn’t spoil the event.  Right on time the cars started rolling into the parking lots surrounding the Assembly Hall Arena at the University of Illinois.

On display today we again were lucky to have Brian Killgore’s beautiful 1970 Magnuson Supercharged Camaro.  Today we were also joined by Brad and Brian from West Bend Dyno in Wisconsin.  They brought out an awesome 1981 Pontiac Trans Am featuring a Magnuson Supercharger/Wegner Motorsports supercharger and belt drive package.   The really amazing thing about this car was that last Tuesday it was still completely in pieces.  Brad and his team at West Bend Dyno worked tirelessly for the last week to put the car together and get it ready just for today.  The story behind this car is nearly as amazing as the work Brad has done to it.  So if you didn’t get a chance to see it in Champaign, then you are in luck as Brad and Brian decided to follow us down to Madison, IL to tomorrow’s event and drag races at Gateway Motorsports Park.  So make sure to stop by ask Brad about the history of his 1981 Trans Am.  We are also in store for some fantastic weather which means that we are in for one spectacular day of celebrating our favorite pastime.
